Pipe Fittings Division

SS & MS Pipe Fittings.
Standard Or Made To Your Drawing.

VERCHO's Pipe Fittings division manufactures stainless steel and mild steel flanges, elbows, tees, reducers and end caps at our associate manufacturing units. Order to standard details (ASME B16.9 butt-weld fittings, ASME B16.5 flanges), or have fittings customised to your drawing, sample or specification when you need them in bulk quantity.

You deal with one team for the whole requirement: we take the enquiry, check the specification, quote, coordinate production and deliver. Our in-house factory manufactures our two core lines, electrical enclosures & sheet metal and industrial fasteners. Many customers order fittings, flange fasteners and enclosures for the same project from us.

Material Guide

Stainless Steel & Mild Steel

Material follows the fluid, the pressure and the environment — not the other way round. Here is how the common choices differ.

General Purpose

SS 304 / 304L

The most widely used austenitic stainless. Good corrosion resistance for water, food, dairy and mild chemical service, and easy to weld and clean.

Chloride & Marine

SS 316 / 316L

Molybdenum-bearing grade with better resistance to chlorides, acids and marine atmospheres. The low-carbon 316L limits sensitisation after welding.

Utility & Process

MS / Carbon Steel

Strong, economical and easy to weld for water, air, steam and oil lines. Needs painting, coating or galvanising to protect it from corrosion.

Wrought

Butt-Weld Fittings

Elbows, tees, reducers and caps formed from pipe or plate in seamless or welded construction, to ASTM A403 (stainless) or A234 WPB (carbon steel).

Forged

Flanges

Forged stainless flanges to ASTM A182 (F304 / F316) and carbon steel to ASTM A105. Plate flanges for low-pressure duty on request.

Finish

Surface & Finish

Stainless supplied pickled and passivated, or polished on request. Carbon steel supplied black, painted or galvanised depending on service.

Standards Reference

Standards & Pressure Class

Fittings and flanges are specified against published dimensional and material standards, so they weld to your pipe and bolt to flanges from other makers. Quote the standard, grade, schedule and pressure class with every enquiry. For customised items, your drawing becomes the specification.

The standards shown are the common industry references for each component. Confirm the exact standard, grade and schedule required for your project with each enquiry.

Fitting & Flange Types

Flange Types
01
Weld Neck
Tapered hub butt-welded to the pipe. Best stress distribution for demanding service.
02
Slip-On
Slides over the pipe, fillet-welded both sides. Simple to fit for moderate duty.
03
Blind
Solid disc that closes the end of a line, valve or nozzle.
04
Socket Weld
Pipe seats in a recess and is fillet-welded outside. Used on small-bore lines.
05
Threaded
Screws onto the pipe, avoiding welding where hot work is restricted.
06
Lap Joint
Used with a stub end so the flange can rotate to line up bolt holes.
Fittings & Connections
01
Butt-Weld
Bevelled ends welded to the pipe for a smooth bore and strong, leak-tight joint.
02
Long & Short Radius Elbows
1.5D for flow efficiency, 1D where space is tight; 90° and 45° turns.
03
Equal & Reducing Tees
Same-size or smaller branch taken off the run at 90°.
04
Concentric & Eccentric Reducers
Step a line down in size while keeping the centreline or one side flat.
05
Raised & Flat Faces
Flange faces that seat the gasket; raised face is the usual choice for steel flanges.
06
Gaskets & Studs
Joined with a gasket and studs and nuts to the flange rating — ask us to quote the full joint set.

Common Questions

Pipe Fittings FAQ.

Does VERCHO manufacture pipe fittings in-house?

Our in-house manufacturing is enclosures, sheet metal and fasteners. Pipe fittings are manufactured at our associate manufacturing units, either to standard details or customised to your drawing. VERCHO is your single point of contact for the enquiry, specification, quotation and delivery.

Can you make customised pipe fittings as per our drawing?

Yes. Along with standard ASME B16.9 and B16.5 items, fittings and flanges can be customised to your drawing, sample or specification: non-standard sizes, wall thickness, bore, drilling, face finish or marking. Custom items are taken up for bulk quantities; send the drawing and required quantity for a quote.

Do you supply pipe fittings in bulk quantity?

Yes. The Pipe Fittings division is set up for bulk orders from EPC and piping contractors, skid and OEM builders, plant maintenance teams and stockists. Share the item list, quantity and delivery schedule and we will quote against it.

Which materials are available?

Stainless steel (SS 304 / 304L, SS 316 / 316L) and mild steel / carbon steel. Other grades can be checked on request. Tell us the fluid, pressure and environment if you need help choosing.

What is the difference between SS 304 and SS 316 pipe fittings?

Both are austenitic stainless steels. SS 316 contains molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to chlorides, marine atmospheres and many acids than SS 304, at a higher cost. SS 304 suits general water, food and mild chemical service; choose 316 or low-carbon 316L where chlorides or aggressive media are present.

What is the difference between weld neck, slip-on and blind flanges?

A weld neck flange has a long tapered hub that is butt-welded to the pipe, giving the best strength for high pressure, temperature or cyclic loads. A slip-on flange slides over the pipe and is fillet-welded inside and outside, which is cheaper and easier to align for moderate duty. A blind flange has no bore and closes the end of a line or nozzle.

What is the difference between a long-radius and short-radius elbow?

A long-radius (LR) elbow has a bend radius of 1.5 times the nominal pipe size and gives smoother flow with lower pressure drop. A short-radius (SR) elbow has a radius equal to the nominal size and fits tight spaces. Long radius is the default unless the layout demands otherwise.

When do I use a concentric versus an eccentric reducer?

A concentric reducer tapers symmetrically about the pipe centreline and suits vertical lines. An eccentric reducer keeps one side flat: fitted flat-on-top on horizontal pump suction lines to avoid air pockets, or flat-on-bottom on pipe racks to hold a constant bottom-of-pipe elevation.

What details should I send to get a pipe fittings quote?

Send the item list or drawing with material and grade, size (NPS / DN), schedule or wall thickness, flange class and face, end type, quantity, delivery location and schedule, and any documentation you need, such as material test certificates. Use the form, WhatsApp or email; we reply within one business day.
